Early in the pandemic, the new owners of this home wanted to make it a special place for their family. The original home was poorly planned, including the access to the bedrooms on the second floor through a ground floor bedroom.

We added a two story addition at the rear of the house and the entire home was gutted to the studs. The two car garage was reduced to a one car garage in order to get more floor area for the house. A family room with a loggia provides covered access to the backyard. Wherever possible, we added cantilever bays to give the feeling of increased floor area that did not count as floor area per Los Altos regulations.

The home is a Net Zero Energy home. Meaning that it creates as much electricity as it uses. Gas infrastructure was abandoned and the entire property is all electric.
